IUFoST was the first global organization to begin the discussion on COVID-19 and Food Safety with its Scientific Roundtable Discussion - COVID-19 and Food Safety and its implications, Challenges and Solutions for the Food Industry - organized together with the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology in March 2020.
In bringing together distinguished panels of expert global speakers to illuminate the topics and facilitate discussion at all these Roundtables, IUFoST was able to help identify challenges and action points for the way forward during and after the pandemic. These efforts on food safety and supply chain resilience aimed to open the debate and provide help to countries to mitigate the socio-economic impacts of the pandemic, teaming up for food safety and working together for safe food and good health.
