Dear Colleague,

 

We cordially invite you to become a member of the International Society of Food Engineering (ISFE). The society's mission is to provide a forum to encourage lively debate and sharing of ideas and expertise among the many professionals exploring food engineering and related topics in academia, industry, and governments from around the world. Your knowledge, expertise, experience, and successes in the Food Engineering field, as well as your perception of unresolved problems facing researchers today, are all greatly needed to enliven our debate and further international understanding of this rapidly evolving field. With the backing of active members, the society will be able to support teaching activities of various kinds (e.g., Distant Education, On-the-job-education, Life-long-learning programs), development / evaluation of data bases and specialized software (e.g., Physical Properties of Foods, Unit Operations in Food Processing Calculation Programs), facilitate coordination and undertaken of joint research efforts. ISFE is an organization that works in close partnership with the International Union of Food Science & Technology (IUFoST) as the Union 's “Special Interest Group” on Food Engineering.

Above all, the primary objective of ISFE is to foster international scientific communication between food engineers everywhere through technology transfer and information exchange, while at the same time, supporting cooperative endeavors with other professional societies related to food engineering and technology, such as food engineering groups within IUFoST's Adhering Bodies like IFT, EFFoST, and other international professional organizations in the areas of chemical, agricultural, biological, environmental, mechanical and electrical engineering, to name a few.
