IUFoST is developing a series of 10 distance education modules directed to the need expressed by Sub-Saharan Africa food industry for enhanced training of mid-level employees already in the food sector who do not have the necessary formal education in the field or access to it.  Each module has one to three levels  of courses (introductory, intermediate and advanced) depending on the subject matter.  The modules will be availbale throughout the world.

“Food Dehydration and Drying” has been selected as a pilot module for IUFoST Distance Education programme. It will be used for assessing methods of course delivery; developing the course infra-structure and evaluation process; and establishing the suitability of the material for our intended target audience of food industry workers both in Sub-Saharan Africa and elsewhere. The second offering of the test module on  Food Dehydration and Drying is about to begin. This is being offered at both the introductory and intermediate levels.
