Regional Groups, Special Interest Groups, Standing Committees

ALACCTA

The Latin American, Caribbean and South American activities are represented by ALACCTA, which unites Latin American and Caribbean Associations of Food Science and Technology. A regional seminar is organized every other year as well as international courses with experts from all over the world. Thirteen countries have joined the Association and ongoing efforts are being made to pool research efforts and find scholarship funds.

EFFoST

The European Federation of Food Science and Technology, a regional grouping of the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST), is a non-profit association founded in 1982. Today, 80 societies in 21 European countries are affiliated. EFFoST has become a focus for European co-operation among food scientists, engineers, technologists and businesses in food and food-related areas.

FIFSTA

ASEAN Food Science and Technology activities through FIFSTA include joint efforts between seven countries (now including Vietnam) to develop a vital interest in and help set standards for the food industry, through conferences, committees addressing specific regional issues, and workshops.

WAAFoST

The Western African Association of Food Science and Technology is a regional, non-governmental and non - profit professional body of organizations/ institutions, one or more from each country or sub- region, representative of food scientists and technologist, food industry management and other related professional bodies.
